Frequently asked questions

I cannot log in from home. The portal only accepts connections from the networks registered for your organisation (the IP filter). Use your VPN, or ask HD Services to add your home address. See Logging in and access.

I forgot my password. Mail helpdesk@hdservices.nl; you receive a new password. Passwords cannot be looked up, only replaced.

A colleague needs access. Also through the helpdesk: every employee gets their own account.

The deploy failed. Now what? The previous version is still running. Open the job on Activity and read the output (the cause is usually in the last lines). Adjust the settings or the compose file and deploy again, or put the previous definition back on the Revisions tab with Restore and deploy.

The portal refuses my compose file. The message names every rule the file breaks. Fix them all; there is no way around them. If a rule is genuinely needed for your application (a port directly to the outside, a host mount), ask HD Services. See Compose files and platform rules.

I saved settings but nothing changes. Saved settings apply at the next Deploy. The Overview tab then shows “Changed since the last deploy”.

How do I switch a stack off temporarily? With Stop on the stack’s page. The data is kept; Deploy starts the stack again.

Can I add a new application? New stacks are created by HD Services. Mail what you want to run; there is often a template for it.

My domain does not work yet. Check that the DNS A record points at your server and that the domain name in the stack’s settings is right. The certificate is requested automatically once the record is active. See Certificates and domains.

My uploaded files disappeared. The site is probably also synced through FTP; a sync replaces the whole directory. Keep the FTP copy authoritative or switch the site to “upload only”. See Sites.

I want the previous version of the website back. Versions tab on the site’s page, Restore button.

I want a backup restored. Mail the helpdesk with the name of the backup and the file; HD Services performs the restore.

I get the same alert every day. An active alert is repeated daily until the cause is resolved. The problem is on the Alerts page with an explanation.

My colleague wants to receive the alerts too. Add their address on Alerts > Notifications.

My token gets “401 Unauthorized”. The token has expired, was revoked, was pasted wrongly (mind Bearer plus a space) or is bound to a network you are not on right now. Check on Integrations > API tokens.

My assistant says a scope is missing. A token’s scopes are fixed when it is created. Create a new token with the right scopes and replace the old one. See API tokens and scopes.

A write gets “412 Precondition Failed”. The stack was changed by someone else in the meantime. Read the stack again and retry with the new revision number. See The REST API.

claude.ai keeps asking me to sign in. The connection was probably revoked (after a security check, for example). Remove the connector in claude.ai and add it again. See Signing in from claude.ai and ChatGPT.

Can an assistant break something? It cannot delete anything and every change is a revision you can restore. The platform rules apply to it too. See Working safely with an AI assistant.
